Amor a oscuras is a contemporary LGBTQ+ romance novel that explores love, desire, and connection in an age dominated by dating apps and fleeting encounters.

Toni and Mateo, two men with completely opposite personalities, meet in a darkroom, an unexpected place to find love. Despite their differences, this chance encounter leads to a series of dates and encounters that gradually draw them toward something much deeper.

Throughout the story, the novel also offers a critical perspective on dating apps and the superficiality of today’s society, where immediacy, appearance, and fast-paced relationships often carry more weight than an authentic connection.

About the author

Dan Cortijo (@dancortijo) is a Valencian actor and writer. He has taken part in various audiovisual productions, including the short film Solamente Amigos (2018), directed by Ícaro Villanueva, in which he shared the cast with Ismael Afif. He has also worked on projects such as La Primera Cita (2018) and Sócrates Virtual (2021).

In the literary field, he is the author of Amor a oscuras (2024), a work that addresses the complexities of relationships in the digital age and is based on his stage play of the same name.

He also hosts the YouTube podcast El arte del fracaso, which focuses on personal growth, resilience, and the lessons that emerge from life’s setbacks.

His work combines acting, writing, and audiovisual creation, with a particular sensitivity to contemporary relationships and human connections.
