Flores y ruina: Antología de relatos sobre el desamor
Different ways of approaching heartbreak in fifteen unpublished stories written by some of the most promising voices in contemporary Spanish narrative.
An Italian garden in twilight that does not allow visitors. The letter addressed to the lover trying to untangle her name from the shared past. The mystery of a dog and its owner towards another couple. A tomb surrounded by witnesses of a forbidden love. A date with cinema, wind, and fog. A cabaret where decadent luxury and distant wounds emerge.
Flores y ruina. Anthology of stories about heartbreak brings together fifteen authors under a common premise: the end of love combined with the presence of flowers. Wonder and sleeplessness run through the stories, signed by some of the most intriguing names in current Spanish narrative, who approach this great theme from different moods and places. May their words serve as comfort.
The book features authors making their debut at Dos Bigotes such as Aida González Rossi (‘Leche condensada’), Alba Carballal, Lola Tórtola (‘Los dioses destruidos’, runner-up for the Adonáis Prize), Layla Martínez (‘Carcoma’), Mara Mahía, Flor M. Yustas, Ignacio Vleming, Alejandro Albán (‘Solo los valientes’), Juan Gallego Benot (winner of the II Tino Barriuso Young Poetry Prize for ‘Oración en el huerto’), Álvaro Llamas, and Luis Bravo alongside voices already published by this house like Vanina Bruc, Julen Azcona, Dimas Prychyslyy, and Bruno Ruiz-Nicoli.
