Toulouse, summer of 1939. Carmen de Pedro, responsible in France for the decimated Spanish communists, crosses paths with Jesús Monzón, a minor party official who, without her knowing, harbors an ambitious plan. A few years later, in 1944, Monzón, now her partner, has organized the most disciplined group of the Resistance against the German occupation, is preparing the platform of the Unión Nacional Española, and has an army of men ready to invade Spain. Among them is Galán, who fought in the Agrupación de Guerrilleros Españoles and who believes, like many others in the fall of 1944, that after the Allied landing and the German retreat, it is possible to establish a republican government in Viella. Not far from there, Inés lives confined and watched over in her brother’s house, the provincial delegate of Falange in Lérida. She has suffered all kinds of hardships since, alone in Madrid, she supported the republican cause during the war, but now, when she secretly hears the announcement of the Reconquista de España operation on Radio Pirenaica, Inés gathers courage, and secret joy, to leave behind the worst years of her life.
