Cometas por el Cielo (LP Vinilo Color)
Cometas por el cielo is the sixth studio album by La Oreja de Van Gogh, released on September 13, 2011. Recorded at Music Lan Recording Studios (Girona) and mixed at Decibel Studios (Stockholm), this work consolidates the stage of Leire Martínez as the group's vocalist, being her second album leading the band.
Produced by Simon Nordberg, the album was developed over approximately a year and a half, in a process that sought to expand the group's sound towards a more open and atmospheric production within melodic pop.
The release was carried out through a progressive radio premiere strategy, presenting one song daily during the week prior to its publication. A few days after its release, the album debuted directly at number one on the Promusicae chart in Spain, a position it held for two consecutive weeks, later achieving platinum record certification.
The repertoire gathers some of the most representative tracks of this stage, such as “La niña que llora en tus fiestas”, “Día Cero”, “Cometas por el cielo”, and “Mi calle es Nueva York”, forming a collection focused on expansive melodies and a more luminous and open emotional narrative.
This vinyl edition also includes “Me falta el aire”, “Dos copos de nieve”, and “Epifanía”, songs originally released in other formats and integrated here together for the first time in a physical edition.
