Pure Heroine
Pure Heroine is Lorde's debut album, released in 2013, and one of the key records of pop in the last decade. With minimal production, based on electronic beats, deep basses, and atmospheres close to electropop and dream pop, Lorde composes here a portrait of late adolescence, life in the suburbs, and exposure to fame from a critical and very personal perspective.
Songs like Tennis Court, 400 Lux, Royals, or Team combine sharp lyrics with very restrained structures, far from the most conventional radio pop. Throughout the ten tracks, the album explores themes such as disillusionment with luxury models, intimacy among very close friendships, or the construction of identity in a hyperexposed world, establishing Lorde as one of the most unique voices of her generation.
