Luces cegadoras
An innovative work about the passage of time and the search for LGTBIAQ+ identities
October 2019 in the city of blinding lights. Hernán goes to the funeral home in the provincial capital where he lives to meet Leo, his first great love, whose father has just passed away. They had a brief relationship in 2002, shortly before Leo left, and have not seen each other since. The reunion feels insufficient, and they arrange to meet a few days later for a coffee, to remember who they were and understand who they are.
What at first begins as a trivial conversation soon turns into a journey to the past filled with reproaches. They finally look each other in the eyes as adults: Leo, a family father who has not been able to be who he truly is; Hernán, a man still carrying the effects of a trauma prior to his relationship with Leo. Neither of them knows to what extent this meeting will mark a before and after in their lives.
«I embrace you, close my eyes and see us both from outside, from the window of that plane, with a U2 song playing at full volume in the background».
