The presence of LGTBIA+ and queer studies in Spanish is increasingly growing. The corners have begun to take on greater centrality, but there is still a long way to go. The invaluable research and outreach work of recent years is creating a space within the university where queer science and reflection gain prominence. Academia as an institution can no longer look the other way while so many people daily are shaping and building an interdisciplinary debate around LGTBIA+ and queer issues.
This is echoed by the MariCorners association. In this second volume, we find a range of chapters that will satisfy your queeriosity about some of the topics that nourished the second MariCorners congress in 2021. We have chapters on diverse themes, such as sports, law, ethnography, linguistics, literature, media, psychology, or health, but most importantly, beyond their transversality, these selected studies engage in dialogue, create intellectual and physical spaces, and dignify queer realities as relevant and rigorous subjects of study.
