Lubna (Picture Disc)
LVBNA is one of the most ambitious projects by Mónica Naranjo and also one of the most conceptual. Released in 2016, the album is conceived as a rock opera with its own narrative, almost like a soundtrack: the record progresses through scenes, moods, and characters, combining epicness, drama, and a very cinematic approach in the arrangements.
Musically, LVBNA alternates passages of tension and forcefulness with others more lyrical and atmospheric, always with a very prominent vocal performance. Among the repertoire stand out titles such as “Jamás,” “Fin,” and “Perdida,” along with impactful tracks like “Apocalíptica” and “Holocausto.” The album’s structure also relies on pieces with names and transitions that reinforce the story, such as “Lasciatemi qui,” “Essere uno,” “Mortem eleonard,” and “Lubna y eleonard,” which close the record with an especially epic tone.
This double picture disc vinyl edition presents the symphonic version of the album, spread over four sides, and is designed to be listened to as a complete work, from beginning to end, rather than as a collection of singles. It is a very suitable edition if what you seek is to experience the concept of the record in all its breadth, with the narrative and production as the central axis.
