Olivia Rodrigo, winner of three GRAMMY awards, presents GUTS, her second studio album, released through Geffen Records. In this record, she takes a step forward compared to SOUR, maintaining the emotional honesty that defines her, but expanding the sound range towards a more rock-influenced approach, with a more ironic and craft-aware songwriting.
Produced together with Daniel Nigro, GUTS was created between sessions at Electric Lady Studios in New York and Nigro’s studio in Los Angeles. The result alternates tension and release, with songs that speak of the pains of growing up, of trying to understand who one is at a given moment, and of putting words to that mix of insecurity, anger, and clarity that accompanies entering adulthood.
The standard edition on LP vinyl gathers the 12 tracks of the album, including vampire, bad idea right? and get him back!, as well as a strong opening with all american bitch and a closing that lowers the pace with teenage dream.
