TOC Y POP (3ª edición)
A book about POP... that also talks about OCD.
Toc y Pop is a lighthearted tale full of anecdotes about living with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) amid the whirlwind of everyday life. If you grew up in the 80s, love music, cinema, have quirks, or simply keep secrets, this book is for you.
Through records, memories, and key moments of popular culture: such as the magazines Súper Pop and Nuevo Vale, the hits of Madonna or Alaska y Dinarama, and the films of Eloy de la Iglesia and Pedro Almodóvar. José Ángel Rico takes us by the hand on a journey through five decades, where humor, nostalgia, and sincerity blend with anxiety, fears, and inner demons.
An intimate, fresh, and honest testimony that addresses mental health from a different perspective: with sensitivity, but also with a smile. Because talking about what hurts can be the first step to feeling better.
About the author
José Ángel Rico Sierra is an actor and radio contributor. He lives in Barcelona, where he participates in the Ona de Sants station sharing his passion for music, cinema, and pop culture. He was born in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, but his heart is in Cabeza del Buey, the village in Badajoz where his family comes from and which he also considers his home. His roots are very present in his way of telling things: with tenderness, a sense of humor, and disarming honesty.
Toc y Pop is his first book, a tale in which he mixes memories, songs, and emotions to speak naturally about mental health, from personal experience and never losing the smile.
